Heading down, even though I'm going up still, to the Carillio junction then about another .3 miles to the Trails end. You can see as you begin climbing the vegetation starts to change a bit. Still Saguaros but starting to thin out. More Brittle Brush, Ocotillo, Teddy Bear Cholla and grasses.

Looking out over the Tanque Verde Valley. The Catalina Mountains and Mt Lemmon in the distance. Brittle Brush, The Yellow flowers of the Prickly Pear, Ocotillo, Saguaros and Mesquite tress are definitely plentiful in the Sonoran Desert.
The trail after the 5 trail junction, starting a slow ascent up towards the Three Tank Trail Junction. Saguaros, as majestic as they are, also have an intriguing beauty to them in at the end of their lifespan.

In certain places, the trail follows a seasonal drainage.
Seems like a lot of Saguaros... guess that's why it's called Saguaro National Park. Can never great enough of these majestic giants. All unique in their own way. You can see they are just starting to get their flower buds. Soon their white blossoms will be everywhere.
Dry drainage along Wildhorse trail, but that could change with a quick thunderstorm.
Great day for a hike. Taking a look back North towards Aqua Caliente Peak in the foreground and the Catalina Mountains just before the climb up to Three Tank Trails junction.
Hot in June, but Saguaros are flowering.
