The trail is rocky and uneven as it climbs towards Russell Field Shelter.
The final uphill push to the shelter is really rocky, and can be a stream if its been raining.

Trail in the clouds. While parts of the trail can be clear, others can be shrouded by fog, part of the reason the area is known as the Smokies.
