Schoolhouse Gap Trail as it climbs along Spence Branch. This was an old road that connected Schoolhouse Gap to the Bote Mountain Trail
Spence Branch as it works its way toward Laurel Creek.
When it's really wet and a storm blows through, trees have been known to tip over. This gives you an idea of what the root system of some of the trees look like in the Smokies.
