Rhododendron can be seen toward the end of the Finley Cane Trail. The tree is found all along the trail and blooms in July, providing great opportunities to photograph it's white flowers.
The wide Bote Mountain Trail works its way up Bote Mountain. Sometimes, downed trees are obstacles in the Smokies, although they are usually easy to get around.

The trail ends at the junction with the Bote Mountain Trail. Your options are listed on the signs. The Smokies do a great job with marking the various trails and mileage.
The trees lose their leaves in the late fall and winter, allowing the sun and clouds to be seen through the forest.
