Cane lines this section of the trail, and thus the reason for the name of the trail.
The trees lose their leaves in the late fall and winter, allowing the sun and clouds to be seen through the forest.
The trail narrows a bit in this section. It's primarily dirt at this point.
The trail is narrow and can be muddy in the fall and winter.
Even though the trail is relatively narrow, you'll notice that the forest doesn't crowd the trail at this point. This opens up some of the views as you climb.
