Almost there.
Memorial plaques of contributors to the original 1939 construction. Among them are Franklin D. Roosevelt, Manuel Camacho (former Mexican president), Pope Pius XII, and prominent Catholic clergy from around the world.
The rocky desert landscape and sparse plantlife give the Mount Cristo Rey trail a distinct, other-worldly feel.
