Mitchell Point, Hood River, Oregon

Description

Mitchell Point is a great viewpoint over the Columbia River Gorge! The hike to the top is steep and strenuous, but short. The trail has a great combination of terrain from steep forest trail to scree slopes and rocky ridge terrain. It is well worth the hike to experience the wind that makes Hood River famous, and enjoy the panoramic views from Mitchell Point.

Short Hike: Just over one mile from the parking lot. The parking lot is signed off the highway; the trail is well trodden, but not marked.

Cool quick hike, 45 minutes with pass in forest, over rockslides and beautiful view. Windy up there but ok.
