Description

Every park has it's iconic, bucket-list, I-don't-care-how-busy-it-is, photo spot. This is that spot for Channel Islands. Found on the western point of Anacapa's eastern island this point gives a knockout view of the winding ridges that make up the two other islands in this small chain and the large Santa Cruz Island. The flora-covered volcanic rocks jutting out of the spectacularly blue sea sums up this park.

Short Hike: Island Packers runs a boat to ferry people the 12 miles from shore to East Anacapa Island, with varying frequency depending on the season, daily. They offer day-trips of three to six hours (most people can see the whole island in three) or multi-day camping adventures. From the landing it's steep accent to the top of the island. June through Mid-August is seagull nesting season. Conditions are described as being loud and odorous with the land generally occupied by dead birds, feces, vomit, and thousands of very aggressive gulls. The park website suggests that if you feel these conditions would affect your enjoyment of your trip to seek another island during this time.
