Bald Peaks Viewpoint [Suggest Edits]

Description

360 degree views of all the South Bay has to offer.

From a high knoll on the Bald Peaks ridge crest one can see:
- Santa Cruz Mountains including the tallest, Loma Prieta (3,790 ft.) to the southwest
- South Bay and its metropolitan area on a clear day, far off to the northwest, with gorgeous hills close by
- Diablo Range with its tallest - Mt. Hamilton and Copernicus, to the northeast, across south Santa Clara Valley
- beautiful northern California grass and wooded hills to the southeast

In the spring, this grassy area abounds with spring wildflowers.

All-Day Hike: From the Rancho Canada del Oro parking area, the most direct route to this viewpoint is Longwall Canyon Trail to where it ends at Bald Peaks Trail, then Bald Peaks Trail to the Bald Peaks Viewpoint Spur that ends at this viewpoint. This is a gorgeous hike.
