Description
One of the most iconic buildings in the country and an indelible part of LA's skyline, the observatory is a must for visitors. This free planetarium has been featured in classic movies from Rebel Without A Cause to La La Land. Paid educational movie screenings are offered here daily as is the Wolfgang Puck restaurant The Cafe At The End Of The Universe (a clever Hitchiker's Guide To The Universe reference. Even when extremely busy, it's worth the hike for one of the best views of the Hollywood sign and the whole rest of the city.
On the Road: Paid parking in the main lot or along the main road. The spots fill up fast but free parking is available at several trailheads at the bottom of Griffith Park.
