Wreck of the Peter Iredale [Suggest Edits]
Description
Peter Iredale was a four-masted steel sailing vessel that ran ashore October 25, 1906, on the Oregon coast en route to the Columbia River. She was abandoned on Clatsop Spit near Fort Stevens about four miles south of the Columbia River channel. Wreckage is still visible. However what is left of the Peter Iredale will soon be gone. It will soon be a seafarers legend, the sea tends to claim what is left on its beaches.
Short Walk: A few yards from parking.
Family Friendly: Kids will love the skeleton of the ship.
Gem Type: Historic Site
