Description
Sunset Rock is a big rock that makes a great spot to watch the sunset from. Enjoy a short (0.8 mile) hike along Little Deer Creek and through the tall trees to find a relatively secluded spot to sit end enjoy the golden hour. Add Big Trees Trail at the beginning to create a great longer hike before sundown.
Short Hike: Park at the lot across from the Giant Forest Museum and hike towards the road. From there, signs will point you left to Sunset Rock Trail and Big Trees Trail.
Family Friendly: This is a flat, easy hike that most kids will easily do. Technically, it can be done with a stroller despite the lack of pavement although it's not easy.
