Moro Rock [Suggest Edits]
Description
One of the park's most famous attractions, Moro Rock is a high viewpoint to see the Middle Fork Kaweah River valley to the west (as well as see a blanket of smog, a rather unfortunate reminder of why we need these places to be protected) and to the east an excellent vantage point of the Sierras. Hopefully, you love steps, it's a short hike to get there, but there over 400 steps along the way.
Do not attempt this if the weather is bad. There will be numerous signs warning you of how slippery it can be and how much lightning it attracts. Similarly, people with small children should proceed with care.
Short Walk: You can park close to the rock if there space (there are only about a dozen spots) or take the two mile hike from a larger lot on Moro Rock Trail. Either way, you'll have those steps to content with.
