Jones Gap Falls [Suggest Edits]

Description

To get to the falls, follow the Middle Saluda River on the Jones Gap Trail for about 1.5 miles, crossing a few footbridges along the way and passing several backcountry campsites.

The hike from the parking lot to Jones Gap Falls is not as steep, and you'll get to enjoy the river along the way. A small side trail will go back about 150 feet or so to Jones Gap Falls which is kind of tucked away. The falls area is more quiet than Rainbow Falls when it comes to people but is unique in its own way.

These two falls are popular in this section of Jones Gap State Park close to the Ranger Station. The other two popular falls in the area are Falls Creek Falls and Raven Cliff Falls but require an extended hike or drive to reach them.

Short Hike: Parking in Jones Gap Park, follow Jones Gap Trail for about 1.5 miles, about a 3-mile round trip or add in Rainbow Falls Trail for a longer hike to both falls.

Family Friendly: This is not as steep of a climb compared to Rainbow Falls, and you can get up close with a little pool at the base.
