Lava Point [Suggest Edits]
Description
The highest point in Zion National Park and subsequently one of the Park's best viewpoints. Lava Point presents stunning views; from generally breathtaking valley vistas to the east and the noble North and South Guardian Angels to the west.
If you're having trouble picking your jaw up off of the valley floor while down exploring Zion Canyon, do yourself a favor and soak it all in from above. The Point itself is perched atop a 7890' precipice and it looks down on almost everything in the Park.
Short Walk: Drive up Lava Point Road or hike the West Rim Trail from Zion Canyon.
Family Friendly: Drive up to this vista and allow the kids some time to get a sense of scale for the Park. Most won't forget a view like this for a while...
