Description

The views to the northwest, north, and northeast are amazing!

Photographers Point, on a rocky, steep sided shelf, overlooks the vast Pine Creek drainage/valley. This valley has been carved by Pine Creek and its tributaries such as Fremont Creek, Bridger Creek, and other creeks. Several small lakes are along these creeks. One of them, Triangle Lake can be seen from here. Others are hidden by lower ridges in the valley.

As a point of interest, directly across the valley, behind Triangle Lake, on the valley's rim on the far side, is another awesome lookout - Crows Nest Lookout. Triangle Lake is about the same distance—a little over 2 miles as the "crow flies", from both Crows Nest Lookout and Photographers Point. BUT there is no direct trail connecting these two awesome lookouts.

And most impressive, In the far distance, along the skyline, are rugged peaks of the Wind River Range, including massive Fremont Peak, 13,745 feet, on the Continental Divide to the north-northeast.

All-Day Hike: Photographers Point is found along Pole Creek Trail, 4.8 miles from the Pole Creek trailhead parking area at Elkhart Park.
