Description

Fossil Falls is a misnomer in that there aren't any fossils nearby. It's a lava flow sculpted by water and wind late in the ice ages, rendered it shiny and smooth. Visit during the winter months if you want a chance to see flowing water. For more information see Wikipedia or DesertUSA.

Short Hike: Located 0.25 miles from the parking lot.

Family Friendly: This is a short and easy break from a long drive up Highway 395
