The entire family will enjoy a stop at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital and Rehabilitation Center to view and learn about sea turtles. This is a very unique stop along the Mountains-to-Sea Trail that really should not be missed. The opportunity to see sea turtles that are being rehabilitated is not an everyday experience for people hiking along this route. The education and information you receive here can help you spot a turtle in distress, a new nest, or tracks you see along the beach. It is also a great place to educate yourself for what you may encounter along Topsail Islands beaches.

Short Walk: Parking on site. If hiking cut through the Surf City Community Center to get to the Turtle Hospital. Playground and picnic opportunities nearby as well.

Family Friendly: Educational and fun, this is a great learning experience about sea turtles and their environment.
