Description
Emerging from underground, the eponymous falls spill crystal clear waters of the Tarawera River majestically off the rockface. The falls are spectacular as they plunge 65 meters down a sheer rockface to join the Tarawera River.
Short Walk: The falls can be accessed by a short hike upstream from the Tarawera Falls car park, or a more adventurous 3.5km downstream hike on the true left of the Tarawera River from the Tarawera Outlet and campground.
