Fossil Creek Falls [Suggest Edits]
Description
Fossil Creek is not only a beautiful peaceful place to spend your day, but it is also a place of great history. The stream was a once a good place to produce electricity for the copper mines of Jerome and the gold and silver mines of the Bradshaw mountains. The site was home of the first hydroelectric power plant built in Arizona and supplied power used by Pheonix in the 1920's.
Today you are able to hike along the stream, jump from the waterfall, and swim around in the crystal clear waters of Fossil Creek. There is a small cave to explore and sit and relax in. There is a pocketed wall to do some minor rock climbing on outside the cave (though the rock is very harsh on the skin) and the toilet bowl formation to explore.
All-Day Hike: Just over 4.5 miles of hiking on either the Flume Trail or the Fossil Springs Trail.
Family Friendly: Children need adventure and to be able to enjoy the beauty around them!
Gem Type: Waterfall
