Description
Beach House Blowout is an incredible example of the power of the wind. A blowout occurs when the wind moves sand inland faster than marram grass and other vegetation can stabilize the dune. Trail 9 hugs the back of the blowout along a narrow sand ridge high above Lake Michigan. The views are incredible.
Short Hike: From the Nature Center parking lot, the blowout can be reached via Trail 9. The hike directly to the blowout is a little under a mile. It is recommended to do the entire 3.6 mile trail to get the full experience.
Family Friendly: Kids will love the scramble up the blowout and the incredible views of the lake.

Despite the mosquitos and the amazing humidity today. We all made it through this hike. Maybe do it in reverse next time for sun first then shade.
