Snow Creek Viewpoint [Suggest Edits]

Description

Taking one of the many trails that leads down to the Snow Creek footbridge, a great viewpoint lies just off the trail. Once you reach the Snow Creek footbridge, walk about 250 feet down the trail toward Yosemite Valley, and then go off the trail toward Half Dome, which you can see through the trees. As you move out toward the point, the trees thin and you get great, unobstructed views of Mount Watkins, Clouds Rest, Quarter Domes, and Half Dome, along with other features. Stay back from the edge, loose granite bits make this slope treacherous.

Half-Day Hike: From Yosemite Valley, get to the Mirror Lake Trailhead and take the Mirror Lake Trail to the extremely steep Snow Creek Falls Trail. Or, if you're starting from the Tuolumne Meadows area, take one of the other trails that lead to the Snow Creek footbridge from Tioga Road (like Snow Creek Canyon Trail or Tenaya Lake Trail or Snow Creek - Porcupine Creek Trail).
