Awa'awapuhi Lookout [Suggest Edits]
Description
Relatively short but very steep hike down the Awa'awapuhi Trail to the lookout viewing both the Awa'awaphui valley and Nualolo valley. There is some fine birding at the beginning of the trail and during winter you can view whales. Bring binoculars, water and start as early as you can but if it has been raining the trail can be very slippery so you might want to rethink the hike. The trail is about 3 miles one way and starts at 4120 feet and descends to 2500 feet.
Half-Day Hike: Park in the designated lot just off the road and follow the Awaawapuhi Trail. Click through to the trail page for more info on the hike.
