Multnomah Falls [Suggest Edits]

This is the most visited recreation site in the entire PNW... Over 2 million people a year visit these majestic falls, and who can blame them? Multnomah Falls plummets over 620 feet in two sections and is the second highest waterfall in the United States.

The falls are fed by underground springs originating at Larch Mountain. Of course, the flow varies from season to season, year to year. However, it's historically highest during Spring and Winter.

In addition to the beauty of the falls, you'll find the Multnomah Falls Historic Lodge, which features a restaurant, bar, and snack bar. Public bathrooms are available, and the visitor center, Lodge, and facilities are all fully accessible.

Short Hike: The 1.2 mile trail to the top of Multnomah Falls is a steep trail of switch backs climbing approximately 600 feet to the top of the falls. If you're up for a longer journey, take the Larch Mountain Trail #441 (6 miles) to the top of Larch Mountain. The views are stunning from there.

From Portland, travel east on I-84. Take Exit 31 (Multnomah Falls) and park at the obvious parking area.
