Picnic Rock on Mount Verstovia [Suggest Edits]

Check out these amazing views at 2,500 feet above Sitka Sound! Head up the Mt. Verstovia Trail for a 360-degree view of Arrowhead Peak, the Sisters, Gavan, Bear Mountain and hundreds of other peaks on Baranof Island. The summit is known locally as Picnic Rock because a protruding piece of bedrock provides an excellent place to hang and soak in the views. The trail continues on from here up to the far more challenging summit of Arrowhead.

Half-Day Hike: The trail up to this summit is a couple of miles and a 2,500 feet of elevation gain. The trail is maintained, but still pretty rugged considering the steep terrain.
