Heart Lake, Port Angeles, Washington

Description

This peaceful and beautiful heart-shaped lake is a wonderful surprise on the way to and from the High Divide. From exiting the inner Rainforest, it is a bright and welcoming haven, tucked away in a corner of a large, open basin.

If you look closely around the lake, you might find a hidden outhouse with a truly spectacular view!

All-Day Hike: There are multiple ways to access this trail. As part of the High Divide Loop, it can be approached from either direction on the overall trail. The Cat Basin Primitive Trail also leads to the lake as well from a separate trail system, as does the Appleton Pass Trail. For an extended route, leaving from the Sol Duc Trailhead makes it a great trek!
