Rattlesnake Knob [Suggest Edits]

Description

The end of the Rattlesnake Knob Trail leads to astounding views of the Hickory Nut Gorge, especially when the leaves are off the trees in winter. Be sure to explore when you are up here, as there are several different rock outcrops, which each provide a different vantage point.

Short Hike: To access this beautiful site, park at the Upper Hickory Nut Gorge Trailhead near Gerton and start hiking on the Florence Nature Preserve Access Trail. After 0.75 miles, turn left on the Florence Nature Preserve Blue Trail. This will eventually turn into the Florence Nature Preserve Red Trail. Hike up a steep section of trail, about 0.25 miles on this trail, and you'll reach the beginning of the spur trail that leads you to Rattlesnake Knob. It is approximately 1.75 miles each way to reach this point.
