Sylvan lake is known as the "crown jewel" of Custer State Park. Sylvan Lake is a beautiful lake located at an elevation of 6,145 ft. This lake has something for everyone. There is a family-friendly 1-mile trail that goes around the perimeter of the lake.

Sylvan Lake also has picnic areas, small boat rentals, swimming, and rock climbing. With some of the most beautiful scenery in Custer State Park Sylvan lake is a must see for anyone visiting the park.

Short Walk: Sylvan lake is just a short walk from the parking lot. Visitors can easily transport supplies for a picnic to the lake.

Family Friendly: Sylvan Lake has plenty for the family. The trail around the perimeter of the like is only 1 mile. Also there are picnic areas and small boat rentals.
