Overview

A 125 year old town, Redlands is a wonderful place to visit, stroll the walkable downtown, visit the library, one of the best comic book stores, and fantastic places to eat. And miles of expertly built multi-use trails, open to mountain bikers, hikers, and equestrians. More trails are being added every year, with future connectors to the Santa Ana River Trail and Orange Blossom Trail planned. As for the trails, all city maintained trails are cataloged on the Redlands Conservancy's web site, and can be viewed in static and dynamic maps here.

Visiting Tips

Redlands historic downtown is a jewel, and we encourage visitors to spend some time here. There are multiple restaurants that are happy to serve you, a historic library that shouldn't be missed, and many vintage homes from mid-century modern, to Arts and Crafts and Victorian that are fun to look at.

Weather is best from October through April, with the spring months having the added benefit of lush green hillsides. The summer months can get quite hot, but the evenings and nights are typically pleasant. Hikeing in Big Bear or surrounding mountains during the day before heading back to town in the evening is your best option when it's hot in the valley!

Food & Drink

There are many places to eat and drink in Redlands — really there are no bad choices! The recommendations below are based around established restaurants in the downtown area. If you're visiting Redlands, this is the area you want to spend time in when not on the trails!

  • Gourmet Pizza -They have amazing pizza. Take a chance on one of their exotic ones, nothing is bad here!
  • The State - Whiskey, bourbon, and beer, along with some of the best food you can find!
  • Romano's Family Italian - Casual and bar downstairs, and beautifully restored and more formal upstairs dining.
  • The Tartan - Old school cocktail lounge with great hamburgers.
  • The Eating Room - Great full breakfasts.
  • Augie's Coffee - Full service coffee bar, roasted right next door at the big red building downtown.
  • à la Minute - Fresh ice cream in small batches frozen with nitrogen. Give it a try!
