Alsace is a region in the northeast of France bordered by the Rhine River in the east and the Vosges Mountains to the west. The region has a lot to offer to the traveler. You can visit the may old and historic cities and villages. The Route du Vin at the foot of the Vosges Mountains is especially picturesque. The Club Vosgiens maintains 20,000 km of trails through the mountains and vineyards. There are numerous castles ruins in the mountains to hike to.
