Overview

Stroll down the sun-dappled trails surrounded by hemlock, cottonwood, alder, spruce and cedar as you enjoy the company of the powerful Green River. Visitors often enjoy looking for birds, forest and river animals. You may also see expert-level raft and kayak paddlers enjoying the Class II to Class IV whitewater of the Green River Gorge, an impressive sandstone gorge that serves up some of the region’s best rapids.

Kanaskat-Palmer State Park is a 320-acre park on a low, forested plateau, with two miles of shoreline on the Green River. Other activities include trout fishing, rock-hopping and wading in the pools and eddies.

Park information: (360) 886-0148
