Family Friendly Beginning portion of the path is gravel and very friendly for youth and elderly alike

Description

The trail leads off heading north along Skinner Brook and crosses over a bridge to the west banking almost immediately. This bridge and the trail for first 0.2 miles is very accessible and and friendly.

You hike past pools, slabs, and cascades as Skinner Brook babbles past. At the apple orchard, the trail forks, and you can choose to take the cut off to the western portion of the loop, or continue along Skinner Brook. Continuing along the brook you see more potholes and pools as the trail becomes singletrack and more technical.

At 0.5 miles, the trail hairpins and runs along the western edge of the plot just below the embankment to I89 at points. Some fun glacial erratics can be found on the portion of trail. The trail closes off the loop at the bridge from the parking lot.
