This trail leads you through the ruins of Horseshoe Pueblo and Hackberry Pueblo, along the head of two canyons. Horseshoe Pueblo is named after Horseshoe House which is formed like a horseshoe. It has multiple chambers and a circular structure at its center. The house is on your right after about a third of a mile. The other prominent feature is Horseshoe Tower, on your right about a fifth of a mile in, right on the edge of the canyon, overlooking the canyon towards the Ute Mountains. Hackberry Pueblo is clustered around the second canyon head, about half a mile in. It is named after the abundance of hackberry trees in its vicinity. The trail ends right behind the last structure.
