The trail is accessed via a long, bumpy FS road which is gated following heavy snows.

Need to Know

From downtown Cloudcroft, turn onto NM 130 (south), then left onto FS 24B. Then turn right onto FS 5661. FS 5661 is a bumpy FS road, but is negotiable with a passenger car if taken slowly. There is a small amount of parking at the trailhead and a dispersed camping site is across the road.

Description

This trail follows a ridge-top on an old logging road (doubletrack), and provides pleasant views into Cox Canyon to the south. This trail is designated as Trail # T5661F on the signage.
