This trail starts off the parking area, signed as the Chestnut Hill Trailhead. It travels for approximately 0.4 miles to pass by the North Ponds Trail (on the left). It travels for 0.6 miles to pass by the northern end of the Lily Pond Trail (on the left).

The trail continues past the Reservoir Road Trail (on the left) and Old Winchester Road (on the left). The trail turns right, to travel northward, all the way to the Horseshoe Road Parking Area.
