Family Friendly Wide dry trails, there are railings at dangerous cliffs, its not far from road

Description

Parking lot behind the WHMT building, hike through grass near back to access trail.

Several pretty waterfalls/cascades along route.

Slightly muddy in spring for the first couple hundred feet, not unmanageable. There is sometimes mud further down the gorge, but people have conveniently put some logs in it to make a pseudo-corduroy.

Many side trails/shortcuts. Trail can be steep in areas, but can be avoided with the many switchbacks.

Rarely see other people on trail.

Can be a bit buggy in the lowest elevation part in the rear.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of squirrels and chipmunks.
