Description
Considered one of the best and most difficult long-distance trails in Scotland, this trek offers breathtaking views, river crossings, waterfalls, and adverse weather.
Several in-depth guides are available online and through publishers.
As an overview, you should expect extreme weather conditions, boggy terrain, poorly marked trails, multiple days between resupply and other challenges. The trail can be broken down into multiple sections by the villages it passes through. Generally done from south to north, access to the Cape Wrath Terminus can be restricted due to MOD use and limited ferry schedules. Check before completing the final portion and be prepared to backtrack to Kinlochbervie. This trip generally takes two weeks or more to complete.
