Description
The trail is an easy 1.2 mile round trip over a well marked trail leading to a spring that supports a variety of plant life such as Maiden Hair Fern. A side trail leads to the top of a nice rounded mesa that provides a great panoramic view of the canyon, dam, the lake and the town of Page. There is no National Park fee to access the trail and dogs are allowed if they are on a leash. There are no drop offs or heights if you stick to the Gardens Trail proper and avoid the overlook. The overlook has ample room on both sides and is very safe. The Hanging Gardens isn't the most spectacular destination around but it does offer a quick and easy outing to a neat little spot. Continue down the dirt road past the Gardens to the Chains area if you want to access Lake Powell.
