Need to Know

Within Silver Falls State Park and requires a State Park day pass.

Description

This trail is connected to various trails in the area, but probably the easiest access point is from the Howard Creek Trailhead and Horse Camp area. Starting the loop after connecting from here, you rise up either side of the loop, and cross a couple sturdy wooden bridges at the far end of the loop that cross Howard Creek. As you return on the loop, there are many junctions with other trails but all are well signed and clearly point the way to stay on the Buck Mountain Loop.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of Salal for picking in late summer.
