There is significant elevation change in a short time on this trail
Description
This trail starts just to the right of and behind the visitors center. There is a steady decline down into the valley with several sections of steps. If you're doing this on a hot summers day, you'll want to pack some liquid with you for the climb back out. This trail ends at the mouth of the tunnel, an operational railway runs through the tunnel so entry into the tunnel is prohibited.
Flora & Fauna
This is a hardwood forest with multiple wildflowers along the trail depending on the time of year.
