Description
The north half of the trail is a nice paved walkway that goes as far as the dam. The south portion of the trail meets the northern portion at the dam and it is no longer paved.
It is a dirt trail with a few rugged areas that are harder to navigate. The lake can be seen from the majority of the trail which gently winds along the multiple finger coves of the lake. There are public pit toilets, trash cans, doggie poo bags, and a drinking fountain in the South Shore day use parking area. As well as a boat ramp and picnic tables with grills.
There is a 5 dollar a day fee to park there. The manual kiosk uses envelopes and only accepts exact cash. Wednesdays are free. This is a very busy area on the weekends! Dogs are welcome. Pedestrians only. No bikes or horses.
This trail can also be accessed from the North Shore parking lot.
*** Treat this trail as an out and back during heavy monsoon weather as a very small portion of one end of the trail cant be passed without walking through strong moving and more than a foot deep water.
