Bus 127 from the Črnomerec terminal runs to Mikulić (the last bus stop, at the intersection in front of the crucifix). By car you can get in front of the sign of the Medvednica Nature Park (address Talani 42) where there is a place to park a limited number of cars.

Trail 9 leads from Mikulić (Talan) to the Mountain Lodge "Risnjak" and Pongračeva lugarnica. The trail is largely rocky and wide from Mikulić upwards (a tractor could pass through it in width). From the sign PP Medvednica (beginning of the trail) to Risnjak there is about 1 hour walk.

Marked trail 9 at a very short distance, and perhaps a little more demanding routes, is followed in parallel by other less unmarked trails that go from other sides of the hill or along the top of the hill, and from them you can better see the other (eastern) side towards Kulmer Mountain and Medvedgrad.

The trail is popular and often used by mountaineers, which means that you'll meet many mountaineers and recreationists, and it is also loved by cyclists who ride in the woods. Later, before Risnjak, it is narrower and typically forested, but without excessive ascents.

The trail 10 leading from Gornji Vrapče connects to the middle of trail 9. At the mountain lodge "Risnjak", this trail continues further north along trail 1 towards the mountain lodge "Grafičar". From there you can also go to the other east side towards Zagorje and the mountain house "Kameni svati", or to the west along the trail 11 to the Queen's Well.

The trail goes through the forest almost all the time. The only views, towards the south and southwest, are from PD "Risnjak". The trail is light, soft and pleasant to hike.

In PD "Grafičar" it is always possible to refresh yourself with food and drink.
