Description
Although popular with the locals, this path is not advertised or marked. The trail begins on an access road that goes to the left up a hill from Park Street. The land on the west side of Park Street is city property, so you should be okay parking just past the turnoff. Otherwise, use the Mount Baldhead lot.
Hike up the hill from Park Street to where there are gates on the left and right. Go around the righthand gate and head down the old road. You'll probably find deer on the way and the view when you first see the oxbow is gorgeous!
The trail is not hard to follow until you get down by the Oxbow. There you may want to use the GPS to navigate around the dunes and find the path up to the water tower.
Alternatively, you could start the loop on the Oval Beach side and ignore the part that goes down to Park Street.
