Description

This hike follows the western and northern shores of the Los Vaqueros Reservoir. The terrain consists almost entirely of windswept rolling hills dotted with Oak trees and distant windmills. During the summer and fall, the contrast between golden-colored grassy hills and the turquoise waters of the reservoir is stark and beautiful.

The majority of the trail is flat and easy with the exception of the last 1.5 miles on the north end which is steep and difficult. Almost all of this trail is exposed with very little shade, so be sure to bring sun protection on this one. This trail also connects to many popular fishing spots along the reservoir's shores.
