Description

Eagle Trail connects the southern end of Lower San Felipe Trail/San Felipe Trail and Corral Trail, to Canada de Pala Trail deep in the Joseph D. Grant County Park backcountry. It also passes Brush Trail along the way. Typically, it is a segment in a longer loop hike.

Eagle Trail begins in the grassy, thin woods at the southern end of Lower San Felipe Trail/San Felipe Trail and west end of Corral Trail. Basically a flat trail, almost immediately it crosses a small seasonal creek and then runs along the creek for about 0.2 miles. The creek is below and to the right/west of the trail in the thin woods, very pretty in the spring sun.

Leaving the creek and thin woods behind, Eagle Trail runs in a large grassy meadow, passing Brush Trail at the 0.3 mile mark. Continuing in the grassy meadows, Eagle Trail reaches Canada de Pala Trail, where it ends after 0.5 total miles.

Flora & Fauna

Grass hills that are green in the spring, golden in summer and fall. Stands of oak trees. Deer.
