Beware of Alligators!

Overview
Barr Hammock Preserve provides visitors a pleasant place outside the hustle and bustle of Gainesville to experience a quiet part of prototypical Florida prairie, complete with thick swampy sections and tall palmetto trees. Throughout this area you'll experience numerous spots to stop and enjoy the view, all the while enjoying trails that are non-technical and gently graded.
Need to Know
Watch out for gators! The park staff recommends you stay on sanctioned pathways to avoid tangling with wildlife, but even still stay alert to danger while on trail.
Description
Starting at the parking area off SE 11th Drive, this hike follows a loop counterclockwise through the area. It's hard to get lost hear, so long as you stay on the wide doubletrack and don't venture off into gator territory.
Flora & Fauna
Your bound to see birds along the route, not to mention alligators.
