Overview
The preserve has trails that run along the Pawcatuck River and adjacent wetlands as well as trails that climb up to a viewpoint on a hill. This region of New England does not have much in the way of elevation so it is novel to find a place that provides a panoramic view.
Need to Know
There are no facilities on site.
Description
This hike is a moderate loop that runs across several trails that take you through a variety of environments, such as a river, a climb through hardwood forests to a vista, and a meander through the pines of a dry meadow. The trail system can extend to even longer loops, but this one is just over three miles. Most of the trails are doubletrack (old or current dirt roads) but some are singletrack.
Flora & Fauna
There are reports of coyote activity. Small dogs should be leashed.
