This is a trace in Addicks Reservoir that is not maintained. Please comply with Corps of Engineers' regulations by not disturbing the ground or vegetation. Refer to the "Addicks Reservoir" page for area-wide information.

Description

This is a natural-surface path through the trees, and a portion of it is covered with pine needles.

Users should always be prepared for mosquitoes.

The southern end is accessed from the informal parking area on the west side of North Eldridge Parkway, just north of the dam. Follow the parking area north along the Eldridge guard rail until it ends. There is a short passage west to clear the barbed wire fence which ends at a red gate. The trace then heads north along the east end of the pond, crosses a drainage ditch with a wooden bridge near two road culverts and then jogs west then north to a junction with Lamb Trail. The trace continues north, winding through the woods until it ends at Patterson Road, about 0.25 miles west of Eldridge.

Note that Patterson is used by motor vehicles as a high-speed road. Sight lines are good at the exit and traffic is generally light.

Flora & Fauna

Besides deer, wood ducks, beaver, skunk and racoon, you might also encounter mosquitoes and fire ants.
