Description
Park in the Old Burnside Road Parking Lot. Head to the east and follow the trail down to the bridge. The start of the trail is on the east side of the bridge.
Once you arrive at the trail explore the monuments and plaques then head south. The beginning of the trail is loose stone and flat, but when you reach the intersection it becomes a dirt trail and begins to rise up. Follow the trail to the 11th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry Monument. Then proceed up the trail to the bench and overlook. From there follow the trail back down the hill towards Burnside Bridge Road, turn west at the next trail intersection and follow the trail to Antietam Creek and back to the beginning.
