Overview

A trail that seems like it is made for hikers. There are multiple views on nature and fauna through the area and at least three trail junctions that are clearly marked. This loop combines the Stony Creek Bluff Trail, the Cedar Grove Trail, and the Dairy Farm Trail for an excellent loop around the north end of the preserve.

Need to Know

Superb trail. At times, the trail is very narrow and windy.

Description

This part of the Brumley Nature Preserve and the nearby southern loop was a very generous gift from the Brumley family. Both sections are in Orange County, very close to Durham County and the Eno Fire Department.

The Brumley family purchased this tract of land, which was scheduled to be a housing development. After a very tragic accident with several Brumley members, along with George and Julia Brumley's passing, the Zeist Foundation sold the property to the Triangle Land Conservancy. Both sections of this preserve opened to the public in 2017.
